Hey Strangers!
I’ve decided to be better at sending a monthly newsletter, so consider May the beginning of something spectacular. Here, you’ll get all the latest updates about book things: title reveals, cover reveals, announcement dates, first look at character art, event information, and so much more.
I won’t always have a ton of new info to post, so during the quieter moments, I’ll catch you up on everything I’ve been doing, including any fun things, current reads, recent TV shows, favorite movies, and so on.
It’s going to be a lot of fun! I’m excited to get started.

On the book front:
BOOK TWO IS FINISHED! Or, at least, written, lol. It’s currently with my editor, so I should be getting the first round of edits back sometime in June. Then, we’ll pass it back and forth for a while until it’s ready for viewing. I’m hoping this means I’ll have eARCs ready later this summer, so keep an eye out for when applications will be opening.
I also started working with Emily from Emily’s World of Design this past weekend to get started on book two’s cover. She has some amazing ideas for it, and I can’t wait to see what we end up with.
As for events, way back in February (it feels like forever ago now), I had an interview with Beyond the Page, where you can find a recording of our live on their IG page. I recorded a podcast episode with Demi from Literary Blend in March. The episode dropped last month, and you can listen to it here. (If you don’t have Spotify, that’s no problem; Demi’s website lists other available platforms. Look for Chapter 12!)

Last weekend, I went on a writing treat with two of my favorite people, Kate and Michelle. It wasn’t nearly as productive as we could have made it, considering we spent a lot of time chatting and laughing together, but it was sooo nice to get away and relax. It’s just what I needed after coming off the deadline. I was able to finalize book two’s blurb, though:
Theo Goodwin is used to running, while Gemma Roberts wants nothing more than to find somewhere to call home—someplace to belong. With the threat of the Authorities looming, despite their strange connection and a shared desire to protect their family, a compromise between fight or flight is no easy feat. As they traverse a new shared life together, they must learn to understand one another for the survival of not only themselves but also those they hold dear.
When a new group swoops in with their own unique powers and motivations that threaten to ruin everything Theo and Gemma have worked toward, the invitation into their broader community has its appeals but equal drawbacks. Tension simmers within their crew, testing their bonds and questioning their unity. As they navigate this delicate balance, they’ll discover the world isn’t what it seems and finally put a word to what they are—mutants. More are found every day, with abilities far beyond what they thought possible. And the Authorities are doing more than hunting them down.
With mutants on the precipice of war with the government, will they decide to join the cause and fight or continue to run and hide?

As of right now, I’ll be at two events later this year. The first one is Better Off Read in Lewiston, NY, and the second is Getting Witchy With It in Salem, MA. You can find locations and dates below!

I hope to see you there!

I think that’s it book-wise for right now… but I’m going to rewind again and go back to earlier this year. In February, I went to a Buffalo Sabres game and met a writing friend of mine, Sam! We ended up getting locked in a stairwell together and missed most of the second period, lmao. Then we exchanged books and signed for each other in the parking lot, and it was a really neat experience! I love meeting other authors and making connections.

I also went to Shea’s in Buffalo in March to see Les Mis. I’ve seen this production live before, but it will never cease to be amazing. It’s one of my favorite musicals, and it’s so well done that if you haven’t seen it live yet, I highly recommend it.

I’m currently beta reading for three amazing authors, so my plate is pretty full at the moment, so I haven’t started anything new yet. But last week, I finished Gods & Monsters by Shelby Mahurin. I’m not sure what I’m going to start next, but I’ll probably dive into something this weekend.

I listen to music all day every day and have a book playlist for each of my projects. That said, the song I’m currently OBSESSED with is notre dame by Paris Paloma. It makes me want to write a(nother) book, but as of right now, it’s all vibes—no idea where it’s going. Stay tuned!

I don’t watch a ton of TV by myself. I want to, but then I get so swamped with other things I fall behind. So, right now, I’m a couple of episodes behind on Grey’s Anatomy. I think that’s the main TV show I watch that’s “up to date.” Everything else is reruns. Also, I’m impatiently waiting for The Bear’s return.
For a while now, my husband and I have been watching one X-Men movie a weekend for… purposes. So, the last one we just finished was Logan.
