Last month, I traveled to Salem, MA, for my first BIG out-of-state book festival. I can’t even begin to cover how much I’m indebted to Sarah and Maggie for making the trek with me. They were with me the entire weekend, and I’m so lucky to have them in my corner. Another HUGE shoutout to Kate and Michelle, who made the trip to Salem to support me also! I’m so thankful to have a group of friends willing to travel hours and help me succeed. You’re all amazing.

The festival itself was intense, lol. SO many authors in one hotel; I’m so glad I met and spoke with as many as I could. The readers I met there were amazing, too, and the hype there was unmatched.

Outside the festival, we did a murder walking tour, spent hours in a museum, checked out some shops, ate amazing food, and sang along to karaoke.

I have two more events coming up, one local and one virtual, to help celebrate the release of Book Two.

On my release date, 10/22, I’ll be in conversation with Michelle J. at Lock City Books in Lockport, NY. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the event starts at 6 p.m.

A couple of days later, on 10/24, I’ll be doing an IG live at 7:30 p.m. EST with B.E. Fournier to help celebrate the release of both our books. B.E. Fournier’s Family Murder Night is coming out the next day, on 10/25.

If you’re local, I hope to see you at Lock City Books! If you’re not, then make sure you follow me on Instagram so you can catch the live event!

Last month, I saw one of my all-time favorite bands, Manchester Orchestra. I try to catch them whenever they come to Buffalo, and I’m never disappointed. If you haven’t heard of them, go check them out. They’re an indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.

I also had my fifth wedding anniversary last month, which we spent at my friend’s 30th birthday dance party!

Since last month, I finished The Library of Shadows by Rachel Moore, the ARC for A Cruel Thirst by Angela Montoya, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry (freaking heartbreaking!), and Bring Me Your Midnight by Rachel Griffin.

I’m currently reading Return to Midnight by Emma Dues and Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong.

I’m either outlining Strangers # 3 next… or letting my brain wander to this Mystery WIP that’s been stewing in the background.

That said, I’ve been listening to the Mystery WIP’s playlist more and more these days. So far, here are the vibes:

Me and the Devil – Soap&Skin
notre dame – Paris Paloma
Kaleidoscope – Flower Face
Genesis – Amelia Day
like you’re god – mehro
Seven Devils – Florence + The Machine
pirate song – mehro
Indigo Night – Tamino
older – Isabel LaRosa
Howl – Florence + The Machine
labour – Paris Paloma
Spiracle – Flower Face

Let me know if you have any song recs that will fit the mood above!

So, my book is uploaded to the printer, and I’ve been desperately trying to do *nothing* so I can relax and unwind. It’s not going well because I can’t sit still. However, I have managed to watch all four Halloweentowns, both Twitches, and Sky High. I’ve been on a huge Disney kick filled with all the nostalgia. I’ve also started teaching myself how to crochet during that time because, again, I’m incapable of sitting still, and no matter what’s on the TV, it’s hard to catch all of my focus.
