Musing, Tidbits, and Other Strange Happenings From Bri Eberhart – September Newsletter

Hey Strangers,

There’s a lot to get through this time around. It’s been busy over here between book festivals, sick animals, and concerts, so let’s get into it!

I’m currently doing a final read-through of Strangers in Our Hearts (Strangers # 2)! I’m aiming to get it to early readers this upcoming Thursday. After I return from Salem next week, I will provide my book cover artist with the final page count so she can finalize the paperback and hardcover for me, and then I’ll be able to upload it to the printer! Things are moving quickly now, and I seriously can’t believe I’ll have two books out in the world as of next month.

In case you’re local, I signed a few copies of Strangers in Our Heads (Strangers # 1) at the Barnes & Noble on Transit in Clarence. Swing by and check it out!

I also received the next three character art prints by the amazing artist, Rosie. If you preorder book two, you’ll receive Nora, Zay, and Caleb! (Along with a custom bookmark and either a signed book if you preorder through me directly or a signed bookplate if you order elsewhere and fill out the preorder campaign form. Picture listed below.).

Book one preorders had Gemma, Theo, and Draven, so if you missed them initially and want to collect them all, those three are available on my website’s shop. Here’s how all six of them look together!!!! ❤

Preorders are available through me directly for right now. I have the bundles listed in the shop as well, so feel free to check it out! Preorders will go live everywhere once I’m able to upload to the printer, so that’ll be happening a little later this month. To summarize, here’s what the preorder bundles look like for any format (paperback, hardcover, and eBook once the preorder is live on Amazon):

On August 31st, I attended my first-ever book festival. Better Off Read was at Artpart in Lewiston, and oh my god, it was a blast! The morning started off a little rocky since we had to wait out the lightning before being able to set up, but my husband, Chris, and my severely underpaid personal assistant, Sarah, weathered it all with me—haha, get it?

I met so many amazing readers and authors, and I was just blown away by how much interest there was in Strangers (which obviously is a good thing! But sometimes, imposter syndrome rears its ugly head, and I’m still shocked by people wanting to read my book).

I have my next festival this upcoming Sunday in Salem! We’re loading up and heading out Friday, exploring Saturday, and then I’ll be at the signing all day Sunday. We have a walking tour planned, and amazing friends are driving out to hang out all weekend. It’s going to be so much fun. I can’t wait!! To be fully transparent, though, the nerves are there. If you know me in person, you know I’m a little shy and awkward, and an introvert having to step so far beyond their comfort zone to pitch their book to strangers is a little overwhelming. But I made it through Lewiston, and I’m positive I can make it through Salem! I just need to remember to breathe.

More info below if you’re near Salem/Peabody!

This guy got sick on me last month, which turned into an emergency vet visit. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis and is still currently on steroids, so we’ll know more once his treatment finishes. But he’s back to eating, and being a little menace, so he’s definitely on the mend!

That was the longest few days of my life. He’ll be 12 next month and has definitely put us through the wringer recently!

We saw O.A.R. last month at Artpark as well, and it’s not the first time seeing them, but we always have so much fun when they come to town.

Terrible photo, but I wanted to get a picture of the clouds and the tower in the background. Lol.

We have another concert this upcoming Tuesday—Manchester Orchestra, which I’m so excited about! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen them live.

My brother, sister-in-law, and niece took a short trip back to my hometown last month with me so we could take a tour of the local Van Horn Mansion. Growing up in Newfane, I’ve been here plenty of times, but I never went with a book idea in mind. There’s a new book on the horizon that I’ve coined as “MonsterHouse.” It’s not really going to be about this house’s rich history, but I am using it as a foundation. More on that later, though. First, we need to get through everything Strangers-related!

Since the last newsletter, I’ve finished Together We Rot by Skyla Arndt, reread The Divide that Binds Us by Michelle J. (My amazing friend’s book coming out in 2025! You’ll be hearing more about this from me in the upcoming months!), and read The Truth about the Devlins by Lisa Scottoline. I have also listened to 19: The Musical by Charlie Barnett, Jennifer Schwed, and Doug Bradshaw. It’s a musical audiobook about women’s suffrage.

I’m currently reading The Library of Shadows by Rachel Moore and the ARC for A Cruel Thirst by Angela Montoya (which will be released this December!). But I had to put those on hold to focus on reading Strangers # 1 and # 2, so don’t be surprised when I’m still reading them next month, haha.

Go listen to Dirty Love by Mt. Joy, and thank me later.

Everyone, please clap. I FINALLY started and finished The Bear S3 and the last season of The Umbrella Academy. I’ve been talking about it for literally months now (at least the one), so I’m shocked I found some time to sit down and watch TV. I might be paying for it now, though, because this week is very busy! Lol.

I also watched episode one of the newest season of Only Murders in the Building.
