Hi Strangers!
The fact that it’s already July makes me want to throw up. Seriously. Each time I go to write my monthly newsletter, I’m forced to face the fact that time is slipping away. I want everything to slow down!!
Anyway, existential crisis aside, let’s get into it.

I broke 35,000 words on Strangers # 3. To break that down further, I’m currently on chapter 17 of 44, so a little over a third of the way there. For the record, though, I outlined 44 chapters but already trimmed down two chapters by connecting things together, so we might end up over or below 44 by the end. Either way, we’re cruising, and I hope to break 50k words this month!
Things are going much slower on the MonsterHouse front, but I’m sitting at just over 12,000 words there.
July is absolute madness, so my main focus is going to be working on S3, but I’m hoping to find pockets of time to work on my quiet horror book!

This Saturday, July 12, I’ll be at BestCellar Book Bar in Clarence, NY, for a local author signing event with nine other authors from 2-5 pm. It should be a good time! I hope anyone local can make it.

Last month, we spent a night at Turning Stone which was fun to get away for a night! I’m not much of a gambler, so I decided to bust out the laptop at a bar and write, which turned into celebrating alone.

While sitting under this GIGANTIC butterfly, I received a notice that my short story, “An Email Never Sent” was short-listed for a butterfly-themed anthology. (Wild, right? Talk about fate.) WELL, I’m even more excited to announce that this past Thursday, I found out that my short story has officially made the cut!
Wild Ink Publishing will be publishing Kaleidoscopic Quill in Spring 2026, it’ll be available in paperback and as an eBook and my short story will be in there. ❤
July has so much going on, and I really hope the good news continues. I’m too nervous to even share on here (don’t want to jinx anything!) so just keep your fingers crossed for me.

Since last month’s newsletter, I’ve read They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera and The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst.
I’m currently reading Eat the Ones You Love by Sarah Maria Griffin, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab, A Grumpy Witch’s Guide to Finding Love by Zayaan Schroeder, Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo, and The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
(Reading has escaped me, and too many Libby holds came in at once. Send help!)

I’m seeing The Swell Season and Rainbow Kitten Surprise this month, so I’ve been switching back and forth between them because I can’t wait for either of these shows!!
Excitement doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I’m recovering this weekend from hosting a 20-person BBQ at my house. Between setting up, the party itself, and cleaning up, I’m exhausted. That said, I binge-watched the remaining episodes of The Gilded Age so I’m finally up to date!
(Although, I’m writing this newsletter on Sunday, and I believe a new episode drops tonight, so technically, by the time you read this, I’ll be one behind again, lol).
