Hey Strangers,
I don’t think I have much to cover this month, so let’s just dive in!

The voting deadline has been extended! You now have until May 8th to submit your vote!

Strangers in Our Heads (Strangers # 1) is on the long list for the Indie Visible Awards! Only the top three books from each category will proceed, so if you could vote for my title, I’d REALLY appreciate it!
It’s listed under “Young Adult,” and you can vote for one book from each category, only one time.
Vote here.
I’m also at 61,854 words for Strangers # 3. I had a good stride going, but then I was taken out by a migraine. So severe, I had to be checked for a stroke! I’m fine, lol. I passed all neurological testing, but whew, it was a doozy.
I only missed that initial day from work, and since I stare at screens all day for my day job, I figured I should let my brain mend as much as possible, which meant cutting back on writing for the week.
I’m feeling good now, though, and ready to hit the ground running today, so hopefully, I can get back into my 8 pm – 10 pm “ass in chair” routine.
Still no release date floating out there, but you’ll be the first to know when there is!

I only have one event left on the books at the moment. I have a few applications out there, but I’m still waiting to hear back, so for now, make sure you come see me at:

The Buffalo Sabres made it to Round Two!! enter intense cheering I have to say, my writing has taken a bit of a hit due to the playoffs. As established above, I have a dedicated nightly time to try to write. I work from 10 am to 6 pm, then eat dinner, and then sit back down from 8 pm to 10 pm to do as much work as I can.
But, so many of these playoff games have started around 7-7:30, and while my writing is important, it’s been so long since the Sabres have made the playoffs, I just have to watch it.
So, now that we’ve made it to the next round and I’m in the home stretch of S3, I’m going to try to work around the clock to hammer this ending out.
Since the last newsletter, I’ve also completed three book events: the Boozy Book Fair at Lock 34, Indie Bookstore Day at Lock City Books, and my event this past Saturday at Barnes & Noble on the NF Blvd. All of them have been so much fun, and I’ve had a lot of newsletter signups from them, so if you’re here reading this, hi, hello, thanks for joining!
Last news on the agenda… I found out last week that Kaleidoscopic Quill: An Inspiring Butterfly anthology, the anthology my short story is in, ended up on the Indie Bestseller list!! How freaking cool is that?

If you want a copy, you can check it out here. Or explore the other magazine I’m in: Dark Horses: The Magazine of Weird Fiction No. 51.
Anyway, I think that’s about it for me. Evergreen reminder: I’m more active on Instagram, so make sure you’re following me there for day-to-day updates rather than this monthly one!

Since last month’s newsletter, I’ve read Thane by Aaron Randolph, Don’t Let the Forest In by CG Drews, and The Ending Writes Itself by Evelyn Clarke.
I’m currently reading To Deal with King by M.K. Lobb.

Dead Poet Society! I’m on a kick. I’m seeing them with Highly Suspect later this month, and I’m so freaking excited. I CAN’T WAIT!!!

My husband and I are almost finished with Resident Alien (five episodes left), and I’m preemptively sad. It’s SO good. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it. Alan Tudyk is amazing. I’ve yet to see him in anything that I don’t like.
