Hey Strangers!
I’m currently sitting here watching the election results roll in, so what better time to work on my newsletter? We have a lot to cover, so let’s dive right in.

Strangers # 3 is off with my editor and I’m full on enjoying the break, especially now that I’ve had a chance to “slow down.” I’m not at a complete standstill yet, but I was still running around nonstop before my Vegas trip, so now that that’s behind me as well, it feels like I can finally sit and breathe (and become bored, but more on that later).
Anyway, let’s talk about book sales! The eBooks for Strangers in Our Heads and Strangers in Our Hearts are on sale on Amazon for only 99 cents until Monday, the 9th! There are a few reasons for this.
- Both books are a part of @mg.ya.books’s Book Bonanza happening on November 5th! It’s their one-year birthday on Instagram, so make sure you check out their event to stuff your Kindle full of Junior, MG & YA books for either free or for only 99 cents.
- Strangers in Our Heads is already three years old on November 6th!! How did this book come out three years ago?! Doesn’t seem real.
- My birthday is November 7th! The wise old age of 34 *salute emoji*
- I also have a book event on November 7th, and some people enjoy their Kindles more than physical books, so doubling up on an ebook sale sometimes helps!
- I already made a marketing post for Sunday, so I’m going to extend the sale one more day, haha.
Make sure you’re following me on Instagram as well for any future sales. This newsletter only comes out once a month, so I might announce more over there, depending on time.

I have one event left for 2026, and then I’m hunkering down for winter like a sleepy bear. This Saturday, you can catch me at Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. from 1-4 pm with 50 other authors, vendors, and bookish artisans. Presale tickets are $8 or $10 at the door.
As a birthday celebration, I invested in a prize wheel, so anyone who stops by my table can spin for free character art! Options will include: Gemma, Theo, Draven, Caleb, Zay, Nora, Elise, Amber, and Simone.
I also have some feelers out there for 2027 events, but nothing to announce yet! If you’re an event organizer/book store owner/etc., and want to collaborate on something, let me know!

Vegas was so. much. fun. The trip was simultaneously too long and too short. Too long in the sense that I’m a homebody at heart and I deeply missed my cats. Too short because who doesn’t love being on vacation?
It was my longest break from work since starting there back in 2023, and let’s be real, it’s Vegas. It was like I was in an entirely different world for five days (two for traveling) where I could completely forget my troubles.
Now that I’m home, though… I’ve had trouble relaxing. I truly don’t think I know how to do it. Even watching TV, I’m multitasking. As I write this, I’m watching the election results. I can’t stay focused on one thing, for starters, but then if I manage to for a few minutes, I’m bored.
It’s a real problem. So, with that said, my mind has been straying to new book ideas, which I don’t want to happen—yet. Putting querying aside for a second, I have four books planned for publishing in the next two years. S3 sometime early 2027, then an unrelated project in fall 2027, and then two more books for spring and fall 2028.
All four books are written. All four books are—more or less—ready to go. I just need to work with my editor and polish them all.
AND I’m really itching to get the ball rolling on audiobooks for the Strangers series. I was going to wait until after S3 is published, but I don’t really know what I’m waiting for. And since the idea has been planted in my brain, I can’t shake it. So, on top of publishing four books, I’ll hopefully be releasing (at least) the Strangers series on audio within those two years as well.
So, I have plans—a lot of them.
And… I really just wanted to take a break before I dive headfirst into a brand new idea. I told myself to take the rest of 2026 off, and I’m desperately trying to stick with that schedule. I’ve burned myself out, and I know I need to take a minor step back and watch Ryan Gosling movies, play Oregon Trail, and read all the books.
But yet… that itch is still there. So, we shall see what happens. Will the break last, or will I be brainstorming by the new year? Only time can tell.

Since last month’s newsletter, I’ve read A Sea of Worlds by Becca Mionis, The We and the They by Kyra Ann Dawkins, and The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones.
I’m currently reading Dead Beat by Leigh Bardugo, This Is Me: A Reckoning by Hayden Panettiere, and (rereading) Beneath The Scarlet Frost by Marissa Miller.

I’ve been listening to Dead Man’s Bones and their self-titled album on repeat lately because I’m starting to get bookish thoughts on a new project (as mentioned above).

Speaking of bookish thoughts, thanks to Dead Man’s Bones, I’ve also been on a Ryan Gosling kick with his acting, too. So, I’ve found a neat watchlist that I’m attempting.

I’ve also (probably obviously) seen some of his movies already, so those haven’t been marked yet, but this is my current to-do list.
And as an aside, I’ve made it up to season eight of ER. And The Gilded Age is back! I just watched S4E1 yesterday. But I’ve been slacking on season two of The Gentlemen. I still need to catch up on that.
