Hey Strangers,
I currently have ER on in the background (up to season three now!) as I write this, so I’m sitting down and getting comfy to dive into this month’s newsletter.
We have a lot to cover, so let’s go!
To start, Strangers in Our Heads won BEST YOUNG ADULT BOOK in the 2026 Indie Visible Awards, so thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who voted!

I’ve also turned in the first round of edits for my short story, which will be in Once Upon a Book Club’s 12 Day Advent Calendar. I’m SO excited about how this story turned out, and the gift attached is *chef’s kiss*. I’m already back on deadline for it to do the next round of edits, but after July 15th, it’s off to the printers for good!
Once my time is freed up from the anthology, I’ll be diving into Strangers # 3 edits. I’ve downloaded my manuscript onto my Kindle, so right now, I’m in the process of rereading everything I’ve already written to make a game plan on how to tackle edits.
I’m also on deadline with my editor to turn this in early fall, so I really need to buckle down!
As of now, I don’t have anything official on the books, but I am in talks with a few places, so that will change soon! Once I have dates and times ironed out, I’ll update my events page and post on Instagram, so make sure you check there too!
I recently went to Canada with a good friend to see The Strokes, and holy crap. It was everything I wanted and more. They’re one of my favorite bands and on my bucket list, considering they don’t tour very often (outside of playing at big music festivals), so it was honestly a dream come true.
Also, last month, within 24 hours, I had 10 hours split evenly between travel and book events, immediately after coming off my first short story deadline. My two back-to-back events on the same weekend were phenomenal but bone-tiring.
I can’t adequately describe what it’s like being “on” for book events. I have to pitch and sell and talk, and as an introvert, it’s hard. I love meeting new readers and hanging out with other authors. Traveling to new places to do events as well is always a rush. But afterward, I’m always like a drained battery, taking days to recharge.
I don’t think it’ll ever get any easier, but I’m no quitter, so onwards and upwards.
Since last month’s newsletter, I’ve read A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs, Unpacking Secrets by Rachel Fitzjames, Rekha and the Inevitability of Life by Aaron Randolph, Mindbreaker by Kate Dylan, and Thief of Night by Holly Black.
I’m currently reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara and Dirty Hit by Livy Hart.
I’m going to see Death Cab for Cutie this month with another friend of mine! If you’re new around here, going to concerts is one of my favorite pastimes, and I will try to see as many as possible.
Death Cab has been in my life since middle school, ages ago now, so I’m very much looking forward to this show, and I will have them on repeat until I do so. ❤
ER! Lol.
Chris and I have also been watching Taskmaster lately, which is freaking hilarious. I love dry British humor. Highly recommend!
